ENVIRONMENT

Monique Tippett's art reflects her deep connection with the natural environment of Western Australia's southwest Jarrah Forest region. Her home, nestled near Dwellingup, serves as a sanctuary and gateway to the stunning Jarrah forest landscape surrounding it. These forests are not only valuable but also hold an undiscovered wealth of biodiversity, recognized globally as one of thirty-five hotspots.
Unfortunately, ongoing bauxite mining and the relentless march of climate change threaten this unique place, its rare and endangered biodiversity and its pristine beauty. Monique's art goes beyond capturing the visual elements; it delves into the soul of the forest, encapsulating its vastness, light, texture, and ethereal beauty.
Through her work, Monique aims to shed light on the vulnerability of these forests in the face of man-made threats. By portraying their ephemeral beauty, she hopes to inspire action and encourage viewers to become protectors of this unique ecosystem before it suffers irreparable damage. Monique's goal is to awaken a collective consciousness and unite people in safeguarding nature's unparalleled masterpiece.

“When we take

Take with a hand

Grateful, gentle and light

 When we give

Give with an eye

Generous in wise foresight”
